14 Filipino Fashion Brands Are Heading to Milan—and They’re Bringing More Than Beautiful Clothes

By Joy Agoylo

Every September, the fashion world turns its attention to Milan. This year, 14 Filipino brands and designers will take their place in that conversation through the second edition of FASHIONPhilippines in Milan, an initiative of the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM).

Timed with Milan Fashion Week 2026, the program goes beyond presenting collections. Participants undergo an intensive business development program led by Filipino and international fashion experts, equipping them with the tools to navigate one of the world’s most competitive fashion markets.

The second cohort brings together returning participants whose brands gained momentum after last year’s inaugural edition, alongside designers making their Milan debut.

Meet the Designers Heading to Milan

Among the returning participants are:

  • Adam Pereyra – Heritage-inspired fine jewelry handcrafted with Filipino artisans, drawing from history, ancient techniques, and precious metals
  • Joseph Bagasao (BAGASÁO) – Architectural ready-to-wear that combines sculptural tailoring with subtle references to Filipino identity
  • Tessa Nepomuceno (Calli) – Hand-carved wooden handbags that celebrate craftsmanship through slow, intentional luxury
  • Christian Dalogaog (Ched Studio) – Contemporary clothing crafted from handwoven, vintage, and sustainably sourced textiles
  • Steffi Cua (Idyllic Summers) – Relaxed silhouettes that highlight the natural beauty of handcrafted Philippine fabrics
  • Renz Reyes – Tailored garments enriched with artisanal embellishment and thoughtful storytelling
  • Gabby Garcia (Tagpi) – Designs that bring together indigenous weaving traditions and craftsmanship from communities across the Philippines

Joining them are seven first-time participants bringing equally distinct perspectives:

  • Jose Iñigo Villegas (Iñigo) – Modern classics elevated through subtle twists in tailoring, construction, and finish
  • Jun Escario – A celebrated couturier expanding his decades-long legacy in bridal, couture, and occasionwear onto the international stage
  • Vin Orias (ORIAS) – Refined leather bags and footwear designed for tropical living with an emphasis on timeless function
  • Viña Romero – Slow fashion rooted in careful craftsmanship, intentional design, and locally made textiles
  • Ziv Rei Alexi – Contemporary collections shaped by Manila’s street culture, viewed through an instinctive and artistic lens
  • Jilliane Santos and Paulina Dayrit (Palengke) – A playful, experimental label known for imaginative silhouettes and unconventional design

While their aesthetics differ, the designers share a commitment to craftsmanship, material innovation, and thoughtful design. Many work closely with weaving communities and local artisans, while others reinterpret tailoring, accessories, and ready-to-wear through distinctly Filipino perspectives that feel relevant far beyond the local market.

As Milan Fashion Week approaches, these 14 creatives are carrying more than new collections. Together, they present a portrait of Philippine fashion today, one defined by individuality, craftsmanship, and a growing confidence on the global stage.
