Giorgio Armani may have missed the show, but his vision of black as the ultimate couture canvas was sharper than ever.
For the first time in 20 years, Armani did not attend his haute couture presentation in Paris, staying in Milan to recover from bronchitis. Still, the Fall/Winter 2025-2026 collection, titled Noir Séduisant (“Seductive Black”), was completely guided by his direction. “Even though I wasn’t in Paris, I oversaw every aspect of the show remotely via video link,” the designer shared.
The collection was a study of black in its many forms, soft, bold, layered, reflective, punctuated by flashes of color, glints of crystal, and the elegance of precise tailoring. From modern pantsuits to full-length gowns, it showed how restraint, when done right, can be deeply expressive.
