9 Favorite Finds from MaArte Fair at The Pen 2025

By Dara Clariza Evangelista

Filipino craftsmanship has a magic that blends artistry and a deep sense of cultural pride. At the MaArte Fair, this magic comes alive in every piece, whether it’s a delicate accessory, a bold statement garment, or a home accent that tells a story.

This annual celebration brings together artisans and designers from across the country, offering a treasure trove of creations you won’t find anywhere else.

I dove into the full MaArte at The Pen experience, exploring The Peninsula Manila’s halls and discovering pieces that perfectly capture the beauty of local design. Here are my nine personal favorites:

1. White Flowered Cropped Jacket – Kensamudio

A true showstopper, this cropped jacket is covered in 3D white floral appliqués that look like a garden in full bloom. It’s feminine, romantic, and intricately made.

2. Life-Sized Tamaraw Patchwork Plush – Touch of Craft

A cuddly yet commanding presence, this patchwork tamaraw sculpture is made from a mix of Filipino textiles in earthy, colorful tones. It’s both art and conversation piece, bringing the carabao’s cousin into your home in a way that’s playful yet heritage-driven.

3. Handmade Shoes – Aishe Fashion

From whimsical floral embroidery to beaded accents, these handmade pairs are wearable art. My favorite? A black Mary Jane-style pair with bold yellow floral stitching and colorful bead details that instantly brighten your step.

4. Neon Pink Modern Butterfly Tulle Blouse – The Muse Project

Sheer tulle, puff sleeves, and a bright neon pink hue give this blouse a perfect mix of Filipiniana drama and modern edge. It’s light, playful, and unapologetically bold.

5. Patchwork Circle Vest – PamPinay

This denim vest is adorned with colorful circular patches made from various Filipino fabrics, creating a rain-like polkadot effect. Each patch feels like a snippet of history stitched together into one statement piece.

6. Blue, Red, Yellow Long Vest Cover-Up – Obra Katutubo (Hero Agad)

A sleeveless woven masterpiece, this piece uses color blocking in traditional Filipino weaves to create a striking and versatile outer layer. It’s a blend of everyday wearability and cultural pride.

7. T’nalak Box Bag – Anmari & Co.

A structured handbag that pairs sleek black leather with vibrant red and white T’nalak weaving. It’s the kind of piece that elevates any outfit while showcasing indigenous craftsmanship.

8. Crystal Rosary – My Journey PH

Not just a religious piece, this rosary is a work of art—crafted from shimmering beads in soothing colors, accented with gold details and intricate medals. It’s equal parts meaningful and beautiful.

9. Multicolored Triangle Fabric Top with Ruffle Sleeves – Vivo Handmade

A playful top that combines vibrant Filipino fabrics into angled panels, finished with soft ruffle sleeves. It’s a cheerful, modern take on heritage textiles that’s perfect for pairing with anything from jeans to skirts.

Wandering through MaArte at The Pen is a reminder of how diverse and imaginative Filipino artistry can be. Whether you’re after fashion, accessories, or artful home accents, there’s something here that speaks to every kind of creative soul.
