Beyond Celebration: The Opulence Vision of Motherhood

By Joy Agoylo

Motherhood is often described in roles, but rarely in form, texture, or space. This Mother’s Day, Opulence Design Concept reframed it entirely: not as an identity to be observed once a year, but as a living aesthetic expressed through interiors, intimate gatherings, and fashion. Across a series of curated experiences, the brand explored a singular idea with quiet conviction, motherhood is presence, and presence is design.

At Opulence Design Concept, Mother’s Day was not treated as a single occasion, it was composed as a narrative. One that unfolded across interiors, intimate gatherings, and couture, each moment thoughtfully curated to reflect the evolving identity of modern motherhood: powerful, graceful, and deeply present in every detail of life.

Across a series of immersive celebrations, the brand positioned mothers not only as nurturers of the home, but as quiet architects of beauty, atmosphere, and style. From the way a space is arranged to the way a woman carries herself, Opulence Design Concept explored motherhood as an aesthetic language, one expressed through intention.

“As a mother myself, I always make sure that everything in our home is thoughtfully arranged, from the décor to the overall atmosphere,” shared Jinky Sy, owner of Opulence Design Concept. “These details influence how our children carry and present themselves.”

For co-owner Gerry Sy, the vision extends beyond interiors into emotional architecture. “Mothers create homes that feel warm, lived-in, and loved. Every detail carries their presence. At Opulence Design Concept, we want to honor that warmth and intention through the pieces we create.”

This philosophy took form in the brand’s ongoing Interior Designer Spotlight series, featuring IDr. Vianca Añonuevo Favila, who presented a curated showcase of the Fornasetti collection. Coinciding with Mother’s Day, the installation reflected on presence as something both visible and invisible, how it lingers, shapes, and defines a space over time.

“The Fornasetti collection is a celebration of timeless expression,” Favila shared. “A mother’s presence works the same way—subtle, but deeply lasting.”

The celebration extended beyond interiors into the art of hosting. At the Greenbelt 5 showroom, CEO of Progressive Laboratories Pinky Tobiano led The Artistry of Hosting I, an intimate workshop on elevated entertaining. Joined by mother and entrepreneur Cat Arambulo-Antonio, the session explored the modern table as a site of connection, where design meets ritual, and hospitality becomes an expression of care.

A floral styling workshop by Petals of Love added another layer of sensory detail, transforming the afternoon into a study of texture, color, and intention. For Tobiano, the experience reflected a shared language between hosting and motherhood: thoughtful, generous, and quietly powerful.

Andrea Tetangco’s Opulence in Motion Capsule Collection

With design and hosting setting the stage, Opulence Design Concept concluded its Mother’s Day series in motion… literally.

The brand unveiled its first fashion collaboration with designer Andrea Tetangco, presenting the capsule collection Opulence in Motion. Inspired by the duality of modern womanhood, the collection explored structure and softness, strength and ease, contrasts that define the contemporary mother.

“Mothers embody contrast and are constantly in motion,” Tetangco said. “This collection honors their strength while making them feel seen and empowered.”

Launched through a curated runway presentation featuring Atty. Karen Jimeno, Grace Tan, and Rachel Peters, the collection translated motherhood into silhouette: refined, fluid, and unapologetically present. Available exclusively at the Greenbelt 5 showroom until June 14, Opulence in Motion offers a wardrobe rooted in understated elegance and quiet authority.

With this multi-dimensional celebration, Opulence Design Concept affirms a singular vision: that motherhood is not confined to a role or season, but expressed continuously, in the spaces we inhabit, the gatherings we host, and the way we choose to present ourselves to the world.
