The Nation’s Girl Group just proved once again that they don’t just clear the stage—they clear the runway, too. For their explosive debut at the Summer Sonic 2026 music festival in Japan, BINI stepped out in matching, show-stopping Sarimanok-inspired outfits that perfectly blended high-fashion drama with rich Filipino heritage.

Co-created by brilliant local designer Cheetah Rivera and Visual Director Ica Villanueva, the custom looks took an entire month to craft. The result? Absolute festival perfection that made the girls look like modern, mythical pop royalty.

The Style Breakdown: Wings, Jewels, and Edge

Instead of serving up literal, heavy traditional costumes, the creative team filtered the legendary Maranao bird through an edgy, festival-ready lens. Here is how they pulled off the ultimate look:

  • Saturated Jewel Tones: The outfits popped against the festival stage using a mix of vibrant magentas, oranges, teals, and cobalts to mimic the multicolored plumage of the mythical bird.
  • High-Tech Feathers: To beat Japan’s intense summer heat, Cheetah Rivera utilized lightweight stretch fabrics combined with translucent organza. The custom feathers were actually created using precision laser-cutting and sublimation printing.
  • Sleek Silhouettes: While the look was delightfully loud and whimsical, the structures remained sleek, svelte, and intentionally breathable so the girls could comfortably pull off their high-energy choreography.
  • The Cool-Girl Footwear: Giving the whimsical dresses a heavy dose of pop-star attitude, the vibrant fits were styled with sleek, chunky black knee-high boots.

Cultural Representation on the Global Stage

This isn’t BINI’s first time using fashion to tell a deeper story. Following their culture-forward appearances at Coachella and their Signals concert, the group continues to use their international platform to champion Filipino identity. From the stage visuals to their precise outfits, they are ensuring the world sees the vibrant depth of Filipino artistry.

The “Nation’s Girl Group” executed their stacked 9-song setlist—including “Cherry on Top” and the Japanese version of “Salamin, Salamin”—looking like absolute icons. They didn’t just perform; they made history, beautifully flying high on the global stage.
