The gift of giving is indeed at the center of the Yuletide season for Coro Hotel, as it held its first-ever Christmas Tree Lighting event in celebration of its meaningful causes.
Coro Hotel, a polished and charming hotel on Kalayaan Avenue in the midst of the famous Poblacion in Makati City, held its truly merry first-ever Christmas Tree Lighting event– made even more joyful with the announcement of its advocacies.
Coro partners with Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) in support of animal rights advocacy, as well as with the Performing Arts and Recreation Center (PARC) Foundation (PARC) which creates opportunities for individuals through the arts and recreation.
“Both of these foundations are close to our hearts, and by supporting them through our events like our Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony, we hope to inspire others to get involved and make a difference. It’s our way of showing gratitude to the community that has welcomed Coro with open arms and making a lasting impact on those who need it most,” Karen Dy, general manager of Coro Hotel, told STYLISH.
“What makes this tradition so important to us at Coro is that it’s not just about celebrating the season—it’s about bringing people together. This community-driven event is an opportunity for our hotel to give back, especially to the communities of Poblacion– from its pet parents, the LGBTQ+ community, the empowered female leaders, the creatives, to our travel and corporate partners, and those who have supported us from the beginning. Diversity at its finest! Our guests, employees, and partners come together to enjoy the festivities, and in doing so, we create lasting memories and connections that are at the heart of what we do.”
Karen also emphasized why the first-ever tree lighting was meant to be memorable for everyone.
“Our first Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony is a very special event for Coro Hotel—it marks the beginning of the holiday season and embodies everything we stand for as a hotel and as a brand. We envisioned a magical evening full of holiday cheer, complete with beautiful Christmas carols performed by the talented choirs, festive treats from our Munch Hub, and the much-anticipated lighting of our gorgeous Christmas tree, which will shine brightly as a symbol of hope, joy, and togetherness.”
“This tree lighting is also an opportunity to highlight the causes that matter most to us. It’s an event that goes beyond just lights and decor—it’s about supporting the incredible charities like PAWS and PARC that are doing meaningful work in our community. By hosting such a festive event, we’re able to not only provide a joyous experience for everyone involved, but also raise awareness and funds for these important causes,” Harry Males, Coro Hotel Sales OIC, added.
“We strongly believe in giving back to the community that has embraced us from the very beginning. As a brand, we are deeply committed to supporting causes that reflect our core values of inclusivity, compassion, and care for others— including animals,” he added.
“Our partnership with the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) is incredibly important to us. PAWS has been at the forefront of animal rights advocacy in the Philippines, working tirelessly to rescue, rehabilitate, and provide loving homes for abandoned and abused animals. We are proud to support their efforts in improving the lives of countless animals who deserve to be treated with dignity and care.”
Harry also explained how one could help the cause, saying, “The donation drive for PAWS and PARC runs until December 14. Every 500-peso contribution equals one raffle ticket. Raffle prizes include three overnight accommodation in a Superior Legato Room with breakfast, and three 500-worth Dine and Drink Vouchers.”
The establishment’s partnership with PARC is also pushing an important cause.
“In addition to PAWS, we are also partnering with The Performing Arts and Recreation Center (PARC) Foundation. PARC focuses on empowering individuals through the arts and recreation, creating opportunities for youth and marginalized communities to express themselves creatively and thrive. We believe in the power of the arts to transform lives, and we’re thrilled to support PARC in their mission to make arts and recreation accessible to all.”
For Coro Hotel, this event is a reflection of its commitment to inclusivity, celebration, and giving back. The now annual tradition is about creating a sense of belongingness and warmth during the holidays.
