There’s a different kind of fever sweeping Filipino pop culture right now, and it’s all painted in emerald and bubblegum pink. The long-awaited Wicked: For Good release has revived an entire generation’s love for Glinda and Elphaba, sending fans back into the world of Oz with fresh eyes and full hearts. And in true local fashion, we’ve managed to take that global hype and make it distinctly ours. After all, no one mourns the Wicked, but you’ll sure be mourning if you miss out on this.

Penny Pairs, one of the country’s most loved homegrown jewelry brands, has officially launched its limited-edition Wicked x Penny Pairs collection. It’s a rare moment when a Filipino brand collaborates with a Broadway-to-Hollywood phenomenon. The 25-piece line draws from the story’s core themes: friendship, transformation, and the courage to step into who you are, no matter how “wicked” the world says you might be.

Co-founder Camille Jimenez-Sandico shared that the partnership came to life after meeting with the Universal Studios team earlier this year. “This collaboration is a celebration of the message of Wicked – defy everyone’s expectations of you, never let yourself be limited, follow your own yellow brick road.”, she shared on her Instagram post when she went to the premier of the event in Singapore.

For longtime fans of the musical, designing the pieces felt personal. You see it in the details: the Glinda pinks and Elphaba greens, the soft sparkles, the clean silhouettes, even the subtle symbolism crafted into earrings, rings, bracelets, and necklaces.

Filipino audiences have always connected with Wicked’s story of misjudgment, resilience, and friendship, so it’s no surprise that the jewelry carries that emotional weight. Some pieces are playful, some more refined, and others lean into reinvention with interchangeable elements that let the wearer shift moods and meanings, much like the characters themselves.

The collection is priced between P1,999 and P3,999, making it accessible enough for everyday fans while still feeling like a keepsake worthy of a cult-classic musical. It also arrives just as Wicked: For Good screens across Philippine cinemas, with Cynthia Erivo’s Elphaba and Ariana Grande’s Glinda ushering in a new wave of devotees.
