The halo lip is the latest beauty trend giving lips a fuller, softer look without the need for heavy overlining. Introduced by celebrity makeup artist Katie Jane Hughes, the technique creates a diffused “halo” effect around the lips that makes them appear naturally volumized and plump.
We love how the look enhances the lips in a subtle way, creating a pillowy, modern finish rather than a sharply defined outline. The trend has already been spotted on stars like Dua Lipa, Emma Stone, Lily Allen and Hailey Bieber.
The appeal of the halo lip lies in its soft, dimensional finish. By placing deeper tones around the lip’s outer edges and brighter color in the center, the technique creates the illusion of fuller lips while keeping the overall look light and wearable.
To recreate it yourself, lightly contour around the lips with a bronzer or deeper liner, apply lipstick in the center, and blend outward to soften the edges. The result is a naturally plumped, voluminous lip that looks effortlessly chic.
