In October 2025, Japanese specialty dining place Masajiro Burgers made history with its first-ever international branch unveiled in the Philippines, located at Glorietta 2 in Makati City.
Born in Fukuoka, Japan in 2014, Masajiro Burger started as a bakery famous for its “golden buns” loved by the local villagers. The “Masajiro golden buns” are popularly made with “carefully selected wheat, baked with great care.”
In 2016, the Japanese dining landmark transitioned into serving burgers, and never looked back.
Another milestone is coming for Masajiro Burger as its international branch in Metro Manila is introducing “The First Bite Club” featuring four combo meals this March.
The Masajiro Hot Buffalo Chicken Burger combo meal is the star among the four, with the rich flavors of the meat contrasting perfectly well with the spicy sauce. The famous golden bun of Masajiro is indeed note-worthy with its delicateness and taste.

The Engkanto Honey Ale Beer, although a Filipino brand, brings in the Japanese sensibilities into the dining experience, as the Japs are known to pair their savory meat meals including burgers with the “dry social lubricant” that is liquor.

Aside from the famous Masajiro burger, the Stylish team loooves the Masajiro Tori Pancakes, available in the second combo meal. The Tori Pancakes are gentle yet flavorful on your tastebuds, with the Japanese-style hotcakes with creamy butter inside, then complemented by the delish maple syrup. This pancake combo meal is made complete by the crispy chicken pops. These chicken pops are crunchy and a little on the salty side, and you’re the kind of foodie who’s into the versatility of the sweetness and saltiness of it all, you may also pair the chicken with the honey-like maple syrup. We’re guessing this is like the Masajiro’s Asian take on the usual chicken and waffle meals from the Western Cuisine. The meal is topped off with the Masajiro root beer float by the way, which is made distinct with the Hokkaido soft serve ice cream. Yum!

Menchi Star Rice is obviously the rice meal, topped with scrambled egg and Menchi, the Japanese minced meat breaded and deep-fried. The Menchi is peppery, made sharp by the apparent Japanese special sauce.
The fourth combo meal is the Con Bini Egg Sandwich meal.
“The First Bite Club” is available at Masajiro Burger in Glorietta 2 in Makati City. For updates, follow Masajiro on Instagram here.
