Jung Kook x Calvin Klein: When an Icon Rewrites an Icon

By Joy Agoylo

Sometimes fashion doesn’t follow culture, it becomes it.

Calvin Klein has unveiled Jung Kook for Calvin Klein, a limited-edition capsule with global superstar Jung Kook that transforms familiar wardrobe staples into something far more charged, personal, and unapologetically modern.

This is not just a collaboration. It’s a re-casting of identity. Marking Jung Kook’s first foray into fashion design, the 20-piece collection takes Calvin Klein’s most recognizable silhouettes and filters them through a lens of movement, rebellion, and instinct. The result is a wardrobe that feels lived-in from the first wear, as if each piece already carries a story.

Denim becomes the foundation of the narrative. The 90s trucker jacket returns with a tougher, more weathered attitude. Straight-leg and baggy fits are loosened into low-slung ease, stripped of stiffness and rebuilt for motion. Racing stripe accents slice through pieces with controlled energy, while distressed textures and custom washes add depth, not decoration, but memory.

Elsewhere, the capsule leans into understatement with intent. Graphic tees and sweatshirts are pared back and reworked with hidden embroidery, subtle branding, and personal details that reveal themselves only up close. It’s luxury expressed quietly, designed for those who notice, not those who are told.

“For my first fashion collaboration, I wanted to fully immerse myself in the process,” Jung Kook shared. “This capsule feels authentic to my style and my love of riding…”

That sense of immersion defines the entire project. According to David Savman, Global Brand President of Calvin Klein, the collaboration reflects “two cultural forces at full power,” merging individuality with a design legacy that continues to shape global style.

Shot by acclaimed photographer Alasdair McLellan, the campaign frames Jung Kook in motion, a cinematic study of freedom, speed, and stillness, where fashion meets storytelling at full intensity.

Now available in the Philippines at Calvin Klein Shangri-La Plaza Mall, Level 2 Main Wing, the collection has officially landed, not as a seasonal release, but as a cultural statement. Select limited-edition pieces will also be released exclusively through flagship stores in global fashion capitals, alongside curated pop-up experiences across Asia and beyond.

Because when icons collide, they don’t blend in, they redefine everything around them.
