Lacoste Courtside Garden Pop-Up: Meet The Lenglen Bag

By Marane A. Plaza

With the rising popularity of Filipina tennis player Alexandra Eala globally, it is all the more appealing to don some effortless tennis-inspired fashion. Lacoste, one of the pioneer clothing labels in making tennis-centric style as founded by tennis legend himself René Lacoste, is once again making it easy for us to don sporty elegance with its new purse offering: the Lenglen bag.

Filipina stars such as Miss Universe 2018 titleholder Catriona Gray, actresses Bella Padilla, Sarah Lahbati, and Sofia Andres showed their love for the Lenglen bag during the immersive Lacoste Courtside Garden pop-up at the Greenbelt 5 Fashion Center in Makati City, which will be available September til 30, 2025.

The Lenglen bag has had its worldwide launch in 2025, having been revealed on the clay court of Roland-Garros in March 2024 during the Lacoste Fall-Winter 2024 show. The handbag is named after remarkable tennis player Suzanne Lenglen, with refined artistry of tennis seen in the bag paying homage to the tennis icon’s strength, style, and sophistication.

Drawing the style inspiration from the pleated tennis skirt, this bag offers an elevated, functional, and fashionable design. It also boasts of a spacious main compartment inside, a zipped fastening with a crocodile pull tab, and an inside patch pocket. The versatile bag can be carried by hand with a short handle or with a longer shoulder strap. Available in XXS to M, the bag comes in both metallic and smooth leather finishes.

For the first five days of the pop-up, customers can enjoy an exclusive preview of six new shades before the bag officially launches in Lacoste Philippines stores and on lacoste.com.ph on September 24.
