Community isn’t just the people you spend time with. It’s also the spaces that hold your routines together. It’s the sari-sari store where you buy a cold drink after a long walk, the food truck that becomes your go-to for cravings, the guard at the clinic who already knows your schedule, and the weekend spots where families gather without planning too hard. These places shape the rhythm of a neighborhood. They make a city feel warm, lived in, and yours.

Marikina knows this feeling well. During the launch at Marikina Town Center, Federal Land introduced two new additions designed to bring people closer and give families more ways to unwind this season.

Federal Land has officially opened its FIFA-standard football field and the Toyota Tamaraw Food Park, giving Marikina a new mix of play, energy, and community flavors just in time for the holidays. Sports lovers now have a 100×68-meter football field built using FIFA standards, complete with bleachers for up to 250 spectators. It’s built for games, casual play, practices, and community gatherings. “With this new turf field, we hope to give Marikina a new space for sports and recreation and more importantly, a reason for people to come together as a community,” said Jose Mari Banzon, President of Federal Land.

A few steps from the field is the newly launched Toyota Tamaraw Food Park, created with Toyota Motor Philippines. Featuring Tamaraw food truck conversions and a lineup of local favorites, it’s a fresh hangout spot for families, barkadas, and visitors looking to enjoy good food in a festive setting.

Nine food trucks debuted during launch day, including: Celebrity Chefs Karla Kusinera, Chef Sharwin Tee, and Chef Sai Montes, Yahu! Kitchen (loved their kebabs), Boynita, Kusina ni Kambal, Overflow Café, Kape Talyer, What’s Poppin’. “We’re excited to bring this unique food park experience to Marikina Town Center, supporting local entrepreneurs while sharing the joy of food and community,” said Masando Hashimoto, President of Toyota Motor Philippines.

Running from November 26 to 30, the NakakaLocal Food Fest brought even more excitement to the launch, an event champions Marikina’s beloved MSMEs, showcasing merchants like Café Rajah, Crumbly Crust Café, Kalye Classics, Ligaya’s Chicken House, Mang Romaurk’s Ihaw-Ihaw, Tsokorado, and many more. The result: a lively mix of heritage flavors and holiday favorites perfect for families exploring the city together.
