Marry Me At Marriott With Hannah Kong: Eclectic, Dreamy, Feminine

By Marane A. Plaza

Making her debut in 2016 with a debut collection show at the Aruga by Rockwell, Filipina fashion designer Hannah Kong quickly made an impression among fashion insiders. Her statement dainty and feminine aesthetic is easy to distinguish, with her clean lining, impeccable beading and embellishments and attention to detail. With her fashion design education at the prestigious Chanel-owned Ecole Lessage, you cannot expect anything less than exquisite world-class beading the school has been known for.

That’s why when Hannah unveiled creations that are a little eclectic and elaborate than her usual aesthetic during her ‘Marry Me At Marriott’ 10th anniversary runway presentation, you could tell it’s for a reason. It was after all inspired by the legendary Filipino fashion designer Frederick Peralta, who was also honored by Marriott Manila earlier that night as he was the first-ever designer to be featured at ‘Marry Me’ 10 years ago. The designer has been known for his elaborate, eclectic creations with impeccable details in his more than three decades of career as a design visionary.

Hannah opened her show with a baby pink bridal dress, with layer details in its skirt with intricate beading beneath it.

You know she meant to smash expectation when she presented this second look in maroon, with floral embroidery details on the back and the skirt.

Hannah then switched it up with a soft Filipiniana bridal dress in powder blue color. What a breath of fresh air!

She then went ahead with a couple of bridal gowns on the eggshell white color, with awe-inspiring detailing.

She then presented a sensual white couture with elaborate fringes on the sleeves and skirt, that’s reminiscent of the art of burlesque.

The feminine designer then closed the runway show with a traditional white bridal gown, accentuated with a long veil.

Hannah definitely knew how to keep the fashion insiders on their toes with her new runway presentation totally unique from the previous ones.
