If you want your hair to grow faster, vague advice won’t cut it—you need habits you can actually follow and measure. Growth is mostly about retention (keeping the length you gain), so the goal is to reduce breakage while keeping your scalp in top condition.
Here are tips that make a real difference.
Do a 5-minute nightly scalp massage
Use the pads of your fingers and apply medium pressure in small circular motions across your entire scalp. Do this for a full five minutes—set a timer. Three nights a week, add 2–3 drops of a lightweight oil (like argan or jojoba) and focus extra on the crown and hairline. This consistently boosts blood flow to follicles, which supports growth.
Add one “hair growth meal” to your daily routine
Make it automatic: 2 eggs (biotin + protein), a handful of spinach (iron), and a small portion of nuts (healthy fats + vitamin E). That’s your non-negotiable baseline. If you don’t eat enough protein (around 0.8g per kg of body weight daily), your hair literally doesn’t have the building blocks to grow efficiently.

Use a leave-in + protective style before bed every night
Apply a pea-sized amount of leave-in conditioner or hair serum to your ends before sleeping. Then loosely braid your hair or tie it in a low, loose bun. This reduces friction and prevents breakage while you toss and turn. Bonus: switch to a satin or silk pillowcase—cotton pulls moisture out of your hair.
Trim 0.5–1 cm every 8–10 weeks
Don’t wait until your ends look bad. Set a schedule and stick to it. Micro-trims remove split ends before they travel up the shaft and cause bigger breakage. If you’re trying to grow your hair, the goal isn’t “never cut it”—it’s “cut just enough to keep what grows.”

If you actually follow these consistently, you’ll notice less breakage, better texture, and visible length retention—which is what “faster growth” really looks like in practice.
