Japanese precision meets Italian excess in a new collaboration that blurs the line between archive and runway. Onitsuka Tiger and Versace unveil a special co-designed footwear collection, first previewed during the Versace Spring/Summer 2026 presentation in Milan last September, and now officially released worldwide.
At the center of the collaboration is a reinterpretation of Onitsuka Tiger’s archival silhouette, the TAI-CHI, reworked through a luxury lens that respects both brands’ design codes while pushing them into new territory. The result is a study in contrast: sport heritage refined through high fashion detailing.

Produced at the Onitsuka Innovative Factory in Tottori Prefecture in Japan’s Sanin region, the sneakers are constructed using carefully selected Italian materials, reinforcing the dialogue between two distinct craftsmanship cultures. The upper is treated with a washing and buffing process to achieve a worn, vintage character, balancing refinement with a lived-in edge.
Design details anchor the collaboration in dual identity. The signature Onitsuka Tiger stripes are finished with double stitching, while Versace’s iconic Medusa emblem appears in studded embellishment across the tongue, adding a bold contrast to the minimalist base construction.

Extending beyond sneakers, the lineup also includes loafers crafted in Italy, further emphasizing the collection’s hybrid nature, where Japanese precision meets Italian luxury shoemaking tradition.

Available now at select Versace boutiques worldwide and through the brand’s official online store, the collection positions itself not as a seasonal drop, but as a meeting point of two design philosophies, heritage redefined through collaboration, craftsmanship, and global perspective.
