Filipina actress Shaina Magdayao flew to the Big Apple recently to grace the 23rd New York Asian Film Festival as the representative of the Philippines in the panel of judges.
“An incredible honor to be part of the Film Jury for the 23rd New York Asian Film Festival, a platform for showcasing the richness and diversity of Asian cinema. A unique opportunity to immerse oneself in captivating storytelling and groundbreaking filmmaking,” the actress shared in the caption of one of her Instagram posts.
Aside from her jury duties, Shaina also served some stunning looks in New York, donning ensembles with obvious Filipiniana sensibilities as curated by stylist Abby Paulino.
Here are some of her scene-stealing outfits:
1. Sheer Goodness
For the 23rd New York Asian Film Festival red carpet event, Shaina opted for a little white dress topped off with a gray sheer terno wrap dress by Filipino fashion designer Randy Ortiz.
She accessorized the look with a metallic purse by Alex Rose.
2. Indigenous Patchwork
For another red carpet look, the actress donned a modern Filipiniana in light lavender color. The top featured the famous Filipiniana butterfly sleeves, while the front-tie detail added a contemporary, youthful vibe into the terno top.
Meanwhile, the pencil skirt showcased some patchwork details with apparent Filipino indigenous patterns.
The modern terno number was by Filipino fashion label Habi.
3.All-White Ensemble
For a lovely stroll in New York, Shaina was not afraid to wear an all-white look. She paired her white top and white pants with another voluminous number in sheer by Filipino fashion designer Randy Ortiz, also in color white.
She also topped off the look with a shell-shaped purse by Alex Rose.
4. Feminine Off-Shoulder
Shaina donned another Randy Ortiz look for a lovely stroll in New York– this time in a feminine off-shoulder piña top matched with high-waist pants.
The billowing silhouette of her top gave off a more relaxed casual look.
