PANGAEA Fashion Showcase Unites 12 SoFA Design Institute Designers in One Vision

By Dara Clariza Evangelista

In PANGAEA, experimentation takes center stage. This SoFA Design Institute showcase brought together collections that explored transformation, duality, and expressive form, pushing the boundaries of silhouette, material, and story. It was a continued reflection of how distinct voices can converge, evolve, and take shape within one runway.

The name PANGAEA is inspired by the prehistoric supercontinent where all lands were once connected. Just like its namesake, the showcase presented a convergence of identities, ideas, and artistic intention, with each designer creating two original looks developed through rigorous research, development, and creative direction.

The runway featured works by Neil Mindanao, Brent Omagap, Ana Niduaza, Kendra Pacaigue, Juliana Joie Canino, Gio C. Nogales, KIRA., Kimberly Rios, Julia Rae Imperio, Lei’l Monette, Selina Tiu, and Kelvin Umlas. Each brought a unique perspective shaped by their own concepts and craftsmanship, while collectively contributing to a unified presentation of independent design.

From striking fabric manipulations to inventive silhouettes and material combinations, the collections demonstrated the versatility and evolving points of view of SoFA’s 4-Year BA Fashion Design and Marketing students. Each look was a product of months of conceptualization and execution, challenging traditional fashion profiles and offering fresh narratives to the audience.

PANGAEA was more than a preview of next year’s graduation show, it was the culmination of Design Studio 6’s mission to help students transform abstract philosophies and lived experiences into visual expressions through fashion, proving that creativity thrives when individual voices share the same stage.
