Paris Fashion Week SS26: Dior Goes Playful Under Anderson’s Rule

By Dara Clariza Evangelista

Jonathan Anderson didn’t just debut at Dior, he flipped the script with a wink and a grin.

For his first women’s collection at Paris Fashion Week, the designer turned legacy into playground, proving that “cute” really can be couture.

The show opened with an Adam Curtis film that teased Dior’s intimidating history, but Anderson didn’t flinch. His Spring/Summer 2026 lineup felt equal parts irreverent and reverent, layering Dior signatures with his own cheeky touch.

Think Bar jackets shrunk into Donegal tweed suits, florals that bloomed with fresh mischief, and a finale gown shimmering with oyster-shell beads that nodded to Junon while still feeling utterly new.

The audience was just as star-studded as the runway. JISOO, Mikey Madison, Little Simz, Odessa A’zion, Monica Barbaro, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Will Price all turned up to watch Anderson’s Dior debut, adding even more buzz to one of fashion week’s most anticipated moments.

But it was the accessories that got the crowd talking: bunny-eared pumps, cabbage rose heels, squishy cabbage bags, and hats that landed somewhere between convent and couture fantasy. Anderson’s sense of humor stayed intact, and instead of weighing Dior down with its own mythology, he made it dance.

Not every purist will be convinced, but that’s the point, Anderson isn’t embalming Dior, he’s electrifying it. His language is one of wit, daring, and silhouettes that make you look twice. Wearable? Absolutely. But safe? Never.

For all the noise of Paris Fashion Week, this debut cut through with a voice all its own. Anderson may be just getting started, but one thing’s clear: Dior’s new era won’t whisper. It’ll smile, wink, and stride forward in bunny pumps.
