Paris in spring always feels like a promise of escape. The light softens, the days stretch, and the city itself becomes a wardrobe inspiration. At Paris Fashion Week, Hun Kim, design director for Karl Lagerfeld, brought that feeling to life with a collection that imagined an effortless getaway to the south of France.

For the Karl Lagerfeld brand, this season was about bridging Parisian chic with the breezy ease of the Riviera. The house has always carried Karl’s spirit of crisp tailoring and sharp silhouettes, but Kim added a relaxed elegance, balancing structure with softness.

The collection drew directly from Villa La Vigie, one of Lagerfeld’s grand homes on the Mediterranean. Palm tree prints danced across silk lounge suits and denim sets, while tailored jackets and dresses carried the house’s signature strong shoulders and fitted waists. It was an imagined suitcase of vacation-ready staples that still carried Paris refinement.

Fashion-wise, there was a thoughtful balance between clean-lined tailoring and playful detail. White shirts, a Karl Lagerfeld trademark, were reimagined with geometric seams, a nod to Kim’s own passion for sketching. Versatile pants and inventive shirting emphasized movement and utility, while lounge pieces hinted at poolside glamour.

The show carried another spotlight: Paris Hilton, the face of the brand’s fall campaign, was dressed by Kim for her DJ set later that evening. It added a cultural moment to the runway, blending old-world Lagerfeld legacy with the pop-culture icon’s modern shine.

Kim himself reflected on his design process, sharing how endless hours of sketching create the rhythm and story of each season. That dedication showed in this lineup, where every piece felt part of a bigger narrative, timeless Paris chic with a touch of play.

For Karl Lagerfeld, Spring 2026 offered a wardrobe of elegance that travels well, whether through gardens on the Riviera or boulevards in Paris. And for anyone dreaming of a little escape, this collection was a reminder that style can feel both sharp and serene.
