After months of anticipation, Matthieu Blazy finally unveiled his first collection for Chanel, a moment that redefined the house’s modern direction.

Presented beneath glowing planetary orbs at the Grand Palais, his Spring 2026 Ready-to-Wear show marked a confident new chapter for the 115-year-old brand.

Blazy approached Chanel’s immense legacy with both reverence and reinvention. He dove into the archives, studying Coco Chanel’s icons, the tweed suit, the camellia, the jersey, the pearls, and reimagined them with his signature precision and material innovation.

His cropped jackets drew from Boy Capel’s menswear, his own tailoring experiments, and a collaboration with Charvet that fused craftsmanship with Chanel’s signature metal chain detailing.

Known for pushing textile boundaries at Bottega Veneta, Blazy infused that same mastery here. His tweeds were airy and dynamic, using viscose to create a light, fluid movement. The classic Chanel jacket regained cult appeal, paired with relaxed knitwear and wrap skirts embroidered with camellias.

Blazy also embraced imperfection and intimacy. Drawing inspiration from Coco’s origins with men’s jersey underwear, and his grandfather’s work in the same trade, he incorporated ribbed cotton waistbands into low-slung silhouettes.

His redesigned 2.55 bag featured bendable wire, allowing wearers to shape it over time, embodying his fascination with cherished objects and lived-in luxury.

There were no traditional red-carpet gowns, only satin tees with feathered skirts and a focus on ease and individuality. “The beauty of Chanel’s codes,” Blazy shared, “is that even when you strip them down, they still feel unmistakably Chanel.” His debut proved just that: an assured, personal, and quietly revolutionary beginning for the maison under his vision.
