The Mary Jane isn’t slowing down anytime soon. After dominating runways and street style over the past few seasons, the silhouette continues to evolve, and PUMA’s latest release makes a convincing case for why it belongs in every sneaker rotation.
Meet the Tacklette, a fresh take on terrace-inspired footwear that swaps traditional laces for a backless Mary Jane design. Equal parts sporty and polished, it’s built for the woman who pairs tailored trousers with sneakers one day and a slip dress with the same pair the next.
The Tacklette keeps familiar PUMA signatures intact. A classic T-toe, suede and leather paneling, and a slim rubber sole ground the design in the brand’s football heritage, while a crepe-inspired outsole and SoftFoam+ cushioning make it ready for long days spent weaving through Metro Manila. The result is clean, understated, and surprisingly versatile.

For its Philippine debut, PUMA is also teaming up with JD Sports on an exclusive edition that adds a subtle flourish. The Tacklette Charm features a delicate sakura-inspired accessory that lends a softer, more playful finish without overwhelming the shoe’s minimalist appeal.
To mark the launch, customers who purchase either the Tacklette or the Tacklette Charm during the promotional period will receive a limited-edition PUMA x JD Sakura Anklet, available while supplies last.
The standard Tacklette arrives in timeless Black/White and Jasmine Flower/White colorways, while the JD Sports exclusive leans into richer tones with Black/Mauve Mist Gum and Dark Chocolate/Warm White Gum.
Retailing at PHP 3,900, the collection is now available. The Tacklette Charm is exclusive to JD Sports stores and its online shop, while the standard Tacklette can also be found at PUMA stores, PUMA’s online platform, and select retailers.
With ballet sneakers, slim-profile footwear, and Mary Janes continuing to shape the fashion conversation, the Tacklette lands at exactly the right moment. It isn’t chasing trends, it simply brings together two silhouettes that already belong in the same wardrobe.
