Runway Highlights from Iñigo’s Collection at Manila Fashion Week

By Dara Clariza Evangelista

There are fashion shows that you watch, and then there are the ones that make you do a double take, eyes wide, muttering, “Damn, these are so nice.” This one was absolutely the latter. Every look that came down the runway felt like a moment — sculptural, daring, and powerful all at once.

“I didn’t want to design something that just looked good,” Iñigo said after the show. “I wanted to make people feel. Whether it’s power, elegance, or discomfort, fashion should move you.”

A look I loved was the iridescent blue two-piece, a bandeau top paired with a voluminous tiered skirt that shifted between violet and indigo with every step. One of those rare moments when movement is the design.

Another standout for me was the teal beaded top, almost like wearable armor. Thousands of beads sculpted into a high-neck sleeveless shape, it was tactile, bold, and quietly commanding. It redefined minimalism into something strikingly textured.

Of course, there was the classic black micro dress, dripping in sequins and pure showgirl energy. Confident, sharp, and unbothered, it reminded me why black never stops being new. Then came the burgundy fringe dress, made of matte, leather-like strips that danced with every step, edgy, architectural, and elegant, the kind of look that moves like a story.

I also loved the ethereal crystal-embellished gown, a sheer top scattered with diamonds of light, paired with a ruched ivory mermaid skirt. It felt celestial, bridal, and sculptural all at once. Then there was the white sculptural menswear look, layered in flowing strips of fabric that created rhythm with every stride, clean, modern, and quietly magnetic.

The black feathered set, a beaded, spiked bra top and feathered skirt, perfectly embodied fierce femininity. It was delicate yet bold, dramatic yet refined.

And finally, the look that caught my breath: the “cow-print” fantasy. A sculpted black-and-white gown shimmering with silver fringe and sequins, worn by Michelle Dee herself. The texture moved like light, sleek yet wild, balancing playfulness with power. It was the kind of piece that didn’t just close a show, it defined it.
