When the iconic Lady Dior was renamed in honor of Diana, Princess of Wales, it marked more than a royal nod. It cemented a handbag as a cultural symbol. Decades later, the Lady Dior remains one of fashion’s most enduring silhouettes, continually refreshed without ever losing its sense of grace.

Originally created in 1995, the bag embodies the refined codes of Dior. Structured yet soft, polished yet personal, it has evolved alongside the women who carry it. What makes the Lady Dior remarkable is not just its craftsmanship, but its ability to reflect the moment it lives in.

That philosophy comes fully to life in the Dior Lady Art project. Launched in 2016, the initiative invited artists from around the world to reinterpret the bag as a living canvas. Now marking its tenth anniversary, the project is celebrated in a retrospective book featuring 99 artists who each transformed the Lady Dior through their own visual language. From bold graphics to poetic textures, the bag becomes less an accessory and more an expression of identity.

This creative dialogue feels deeply rooted in the spirit of Christian Dior himself. Before fashion, he was a gallerist and collector, someone who believed that art and style should constantly inform one another. Dior Lady Art carries that belief forward, positioning accessories as objects of beauty meant to be lived with, not just admired.

Through meticulous craftsmanship and imaginative collaboration, the Lady Dior continues to prove that true icons do not stay frozen in time. They evolve, inspire, and invite reinvention, season after season, hand in hand with the women who wear them.
