The MTV Video Music Awards have always been the place where fashion goes a little wild, and this year’s red carpet at New York’s UBS Arena didn’t disappoint. Think sheer gowns, bold throwbacks, edible accessories, and looks that had the internet buzzing all night.
Here are the standout moments from the VMAs red carpet that everyone’s still talking about:
1. Sabrina Carpenter’s Lady In Red

Usually spotted in strapless numbers, Sabrina surprised with a high-neck, floor-length Valentino gown that blended sheer red fabric with beaded florals. She topped it off with a lilac feather boa for full showgirl drama—just the right amount of fun on the night she scooped up three VMAs.
2. Katseye’s Matching Magic

Girl group Katseye showed how to do coordinated dressing without looking like a uniform. Styled in Dolce & Gabbana, the members mixed black satin, sparkle, and conical bras in ways that felt cohesive but still personal. A true masterclass in ensemble style.
3. Huntr/x Breaks the Fourth Wall

Audrey Nuna, Rei Ami, and Ejae—voices behind Netflix’s record-breaking animated group Huntr/x—showed up in outfits straight out of their characters’ world. The internet especially loved Nuna’s oversized puffer, a real-life nod to the film’s sleeping bag Met Gala gag.
4. Doja Cat’s Edible Lipstick Moment

Serving ‘80s glam in Balmain and a platinum wig, Doja Cat turned her lipstick-shaped clutch into a viral stunt. She pulled out a MAC lipstick, applied it—and then took a bite. Turns out it was edible chocolate crafted by TikTok pastry genius Amaury Guichon. Oh, and she’s the new face of MAC. Iconic.
5. FKA Twigs’ Braided “Headphones”

FKA Twigs turned her hair into wearable art, thanks to hairstylist Louis Souvestre. Her braids were shaped like over-ear headphones, complete with dangling strands that looked like jack cables. Paired with a bandeau and low-rise pants, it was equal parts avant-garde and futuristic.
