When Chanel decides to throw a party, they don’t just invite guests; they create a universe.
On a balmy night at The Repulse Bay, the House brought its latest High Jewellery collection, “Signes & Symboles,” to life. It wasn’t just about the 85 pieces of blindingly beautiful gems (though those were hard to miss). It was about the magic that happens when heritage icons meet the modern cult of celebrity.
A New Kind of Lucky Charm

Forget what you know about stuffy vault jewellery. This collection is a love letter to the “talismans” that Gabrielle Chanel lived by: the Camellia, the Star, the Sun, and the Lion. But these aren’t relics. Take the Imprimé Lion necklace—anchored by a massive 20.66-carat blue sapphire, it feels less like a piece of jewellery and more like a suit of armor for the modern woman.
If you weren’t looking at the diamonds, you were looking at the front row. The air shifted when South Korean powerhouses Park Seo-joon and Kim Go-eun arrived. Dressed in effortlessly cool Chanel silhouettes, they proved why the “House of Coco” is currently the most coveted label in Asia. Their presence turned the evening from a standard high-jewellery showcase into a global cultural moment, flanked by regional icons like Carina Lau, Fala Chen, and the ever-chic Aokbab.

The “Lover Girl” Finale
Just when the evening hit its peak, the crowd was pulled into a hush. Laufey took to the grand piano, her jazzy, velvet vocals on “From the Start” drifting through the humid Hong Kong air. It was a “pinch-me” moment—a sonic echo of the jewellery itself: timeless, a little moody, and deeply romantic.
In the end, Chanel proved that while diamonds are forever, the feeling of a night like this is what actually sticks. Signs and symbols? Maybe. But for everyone there, it was pure, unadulterated magic.
