The actress, singer, jewelry designer, entrepreneur, and UN ambassador is back with a fresh perspective on how to take on the new phase of her business.

There are a lot of flawlessly gorgeous faces in the Philippine showbiz scene, but very few have such presence you know can effortlessly impact with such genuine substance and positive influence. And one of them is multi-talented star KC Concepcion.

There’s a reason the actress became the first-ever Filipina celebrity who became United Nations ambassador in 2008, as she was named the National Ambassador Against Hunger for the World Food Programme (WFP) for the first time that year. She officially returned to the role of a WFP Goodwill Ambassador in August 2025. She’s the kind of beauty who can make you actually stop and listen with her graceful eloquence.
And then beyond the obvious articulateness, there’s her brilliance in acting and singing, which made impressive milestones in the local film and music industries. Her debut single “Imposible” in 2008 made Philippine history in music as it quickly reached one million online downloads, a significant breakthrough at the time. There were her headline-making box office hits too, such as the movie “For the First Time” opposite actor Richard Gutierrez in 2008. As of recent, her remarkable lead role in international indie film “Asian Persuasion” drew in a number of successful movie premiere events in America in 2023. When she chooses to be not as active in showbiz, you still cannot miss her star presence, as entertainment and fashion fans alike obsess over her jewelry designs under her very own fashion label Avec Moi by Kristina.

Fame and glamour are things KC literally grew up surrounded with. She’s after all already so famous even before her birth, as media members and showbiz devotees had long awaited her becoming as the daughter of one of the Philippines’ most iconic stars ever, the Megastar Sharon Cuneta. Her talents and looks may come from her genes, but being raised by a literal showbiz queen gave her early access to the enchantment of style, which honed her creativity so early on, and is now apparent in her jewelry business.
KC’s relationship with fashion began at home, long before the red carpets and campaigns. “Oh, just the magic,” she shared with STYLISH, smiling, as she answered what she loved most about fashion.
“The costumes, the makeup, the perfume, the glam—it was all like a playground for me.”

From her mother’s impeccable fashion sense that impacted the Philippines’ late ’80s and early ’90s dance pop music scene in late night shows and box office movies, to her grandmother’s timeless elegance, KC grew up surrounded by women who celebrated dressing up not just as an art, but as a way of being.
“The women in my family really set the stage for me,” she added. “They loved to play around. I got pretty lucky with women in my family who just love to dress up, and love to be seen, and love to be creative, and to play around. And they’re very elegant.”

That sense of play and polish would evolve into her signature approach to fashion: timeless pieces that can move from “daylight to moonlight.” KC favors classics, a crisp white button-down, luxurious fabrics, and jewelry that tells a story. “I love the trendy and all of that,” she admitted, “but timeless pieces, they last a really long time. And they transform with you throughout the day.”

That philosophy shines brightest through Avec Moi, her fine jewelry line inspired by the women closest to her. The name itself, French for “with me”, is a love letter to the idea that jewelry carries memory, presence, and love across generations. “When you are wearing the piece, it feels like whoever gave it to you, your loved one, is with you all the time,” she said softly. “I grew up with my mom sharing her jewelry with me, and I always felt close to her when I wore them. That’s the feeling I wanted to recreate.”

Her transition from being a solely showbiz star, into now a businesswoman, is definitely an exciting, new phase of her life—one that she takes on with a new perspective. When asked what it felt like to broaden her artistry beyond film and music through jewelry design, KC quipped, “Honestly? It feels like a plot twist I didn’t see coming, because the business of jewelry came to me accidentally. I made a limited edition collection and hosted a dinner for buyers, and didn’t expect the public to want to purchase their own. So it wasn’t planned but in the best way. I went from memorizing scripts to sketching designs and picking gemstones like they’re candy. And the best part is these ‘candies’ actually hold value and can be passed down, so it’s basically guilt-free shopping, right? It’s been such an empowering shift, and I’m obsessed with this new chapter of creating an actual product outside of you that holds value and that people can appreciate.”
She shared what she loves most about entrepreneurship, saying, “What I love most about having your own business is the freedom to build my own little universe. I get to take an idea, integrate my heart, mind and personality into it, and turn it into something people appreciate and use every day. And let’s be real, there’s something addictive about turning a vision into a legitimate business. I make things that hold value, and are made to last forever… so that’s definitely a win.”

The star imparted the lessons she holds dearly when it comes to running a biz. “First, start before you feel ready. If you wait for the ‘perfect timing’ and all, you’ll never move. Secondly, keep learning, and always believe there is something more to learn. Just don’t think you’re already so good, ‘cause that’s when you stop being good. And of course, protect your peace. You don’t have to do things alone, so build a solid team and trust your people to apply their own strengths with you to getting the job done. It isn’t about burnout anymore. The flex is how well the team works to make the dream work.”
She also shared her creative process in her world of jewelry design. “I listen to what my customers like, and I observe quietly – I get inspired by everything! I travel, I people watch, explore markets, engage in conversations with interesting people, pay attention to colors of animals or anything I’m currently attracted to. Then I allow myself to sketch whatever comes to mind, and start tweaking to see what’s wearable and for now I think of what’s easy to source and cost. And after all that, I work with my goldsmiths to turn some sketches into something real … something your sisters, besties, or even future daughter will “borrow” and keep wearing in her own style.”
Her aesthetic—sleek, sentimental, quietly luxurious— also reflects her years living abroad. KC spent her early adulthood in Paris, walking the same cobblestone streets as the great designers she admired. “I wouldn’t say my work is ‘Parisian design,’ but living and breathing in Paris, where sensuality, creativity, and self-expression are celebrated in subtle ways, really shaped me. It’s not loud, but it’s forever.”

Her time in Europe didn’t just refine her artistic eye, it deepened her perspective on the world. Around the same time, KC began working with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), a commitment that has taken her to conflict zones and disaster-stricken areas across the globe. “When I first joined, I was the youngest ambassador,” she recalled. “It was a baptism of fire. You go to the field, and it’s not easy. But you see the impact, how feeding programs transform children’s lives.”
KC’s voice softened as she recounted meeting people who grew up being fed by WFP and are now doctors, teachers, and leaders. “Food is the most basic need, right? So you can really see now how it really does change and save and transform lives.”
Her missions have brought her face to face with fellow advocates like Michelle Yeoh, Drew Barrymore, and Angelina Jolie– influential women she’s credited for inspiring her to continue the advocacy work. “It’s a fun thing to do, giving back.” she added. “You, yourself are having fun and meeting these people, through a good kind of work, good work that’s tangible.”

Today, this multihyphenate star continues to evolve, not by chasing trends, but by shaping her own rhythm between artistry and purpose. Whether she’s designing jewelry pieces for her brand, traveling the world for her work with the United Nations, or rediscovering herself through fashion, she remains true to the women who raised her: to be strong, creative, and unafraid to shine in her own way. Be it in her advocacy work, in her multiple creative pursuits, or heading her own little business empire, KC believes in the power of female leadership.
“When women lead, we think of others. We think long-term, we nurture communities, and we build things that last, the same way we cherish jewelry pieces that can be passed down for generations like legacy. If you really think about it, strong women create strong societies.”
When asked what’s her next endeavor, KC’s answer was short and sweet: “Ask Tita Cory!” — referring to Cory Vidanes of ABS-CBN. Could it be a new TV series? A new music project perhaps? Or an expansive career in fashion, maybe? It’s clear that this star’s next chapter is already in motion, and, as always, she’s doing it with style and grace. Indeed, we’re headed to the renaissance of the one and only KC Concepcion.
