Jorts–jean shorts–is the cool new fashion trend everyone’s obsessing over the past few months. Yes, it’s still the same denim shorts we’ve been wearing our whole lives, give or take a few inches.
What’s particularly appealing about denim in general is its versatility, it can be styled in numerous ways, from sophisticated and chic looks to casual and laidback attire. And this versatility makes denim, including jorts, a perfect canvas for exploring how to style jorts in various fashion statements.
So, what sets jorts apart from simple denim shorts? Jorts, by today’s working definition, are loose jean shorts with hemlines landing anywhere from mid-thigh to Bermuda-length territory.
In the past, people usually pair them with an oversized T-shirt, but for 2025 fashion insiders, they have elevated the style. Stylish people have put their own spin on the revived style and integrated jorts into all aesthetics from classic minimalism to pretty vintage.
