Where Art Meets Home: Limited-Edition Pieces Showcased at Rustan’s

By Dara Clariza Evangelista

Home art isn’t just found on walls, it’s in the curves of a vase, the glint of crystal under sunlight, and the thoughtful detailing of objects that spark emotion.

This August, Rustan’s celebrates Home Month with the Home Art Series, spotlighting collectible pieces that elevate everyday living through design, craftsmanship, and cultural meaning.

We were lucky enough to see these pieces in real life, and they were even more captivating up close. While the event offered elegant drinks, canapés, and even ice cream, the real star was the art.

Lladró x Javier Calleja

These were easily the cutest pieces in the room. Personally, they reminded me of Toothless and Luna from How to Train Your Dragon, like the Night and Light Fury in porcelain form. You Choose One, featuring Child, Devil Cat, and Angel Cat, felt like toy figures for grown-up collectors. Their glassy, oversized eyes pull you in. You can get lost in them, it’s like seeing the world through a child’s eyes again. Each of the 150 pieces is hand-finished and full of soft whimsy, making them the perfect balance of playful and refined.

Christofle x Junichi Hakose

This was one of the most crowded tables during the event. Guests couldn’t get enough, and we think it’s because Christofle has a reputation for subtle luxury that’s made its way to the tables of rich-tok regulars, like Becca Bloom, who’s often seen plating food with Christofle silver.

The MOOD collection, redesigned with Japanese lacquer master Junichi Hakose, features urushi and make details that sparkle with gold, mother-of-pearl, and intricate symbols like dragons and cherry blossoms. It’s a striking blend of tradition and trend.

Lladró x Jade Purple Brown – The Guest

The moment we saw this piece, it immediately gave New York energy, bold, vibrant, and full of unapologetic personality. Artist Jade Purple Brown brings her signature saturated palette and pop aesthetic to The Guest, creating the first-ever female version of this iconic sculpture. It’s playful and powerful all at once, featuring expressive lines and a confident stance that speaks to empowerment, activism, and identity.

Lalique x René Magritte

This series was quietly stunning. Our favorite? The crystal goblet with a giraffe inside (Le Bain de Cristal), a surreal yet delicate piece that looked like a dream frozen in ice. Lalique’s homage to Magritte turns his most iconic visuals into fine crystal objects: bowler hats, apples, pipes, and more, all brought to life using the lost-wax technique. It’s art history made tangible.

Daum’s Citrus, Camélia, and Magnum Horse Series

These looked like giant, glowing jelly fruits, like if lemons were turned into colored ice sculptures. The Citrus Collection genuinely felt like summer frozen in time. Their translucent textures and bright yellow-green palette made it feel like a sunbeam captured in glass. Also featured were Daum’s signature sculptural forms, the blooming Camélia Vase and the powerful Magnum Horse. Every piece reminded us of nature’s movement.

Bernardaud x Jeff Koons

Bernardaud’s collaboration with Jeff Koons brought high-impact modernity into the mix. The Ballerinas Coupe Plate and Elephant sculpture felt like snapshots from an art gallery, bold, glossy, and distinctly Koons. The mirrored finishes and soft pastel gradients add a layer of sculptural elegance, perfect for collectors who want personality and polish on their tables.

So whether you’re into playful figures, surrealist forms, or heritage craftsmanship, the Rustan’s Home Art Series reminds us that beauty belongs in every room. These are more than pieces to admire, they’re meant to live with, to spark joy, and to transform your space one conversation-starting piece at a time.
