Zimmermann FW SS26: Embracing Feminine Energy Through Soft Power Dressing

By Dara Clariza Evangelista

Girlhood is the new luxury, and Zimmermann is leading the charge. For Spring 2026, the Australian brand brought its signature romanticism to Paris with a show that felt like a love letter to feminine energy, soft, nostalgic, and quietly confident. Titled Kindred Spirit, the collection reminded everyone that being in touch with your softness isn’t about being delicate; it’s about being sure of yourself, and choosing to bloom anyway.

The show opened with Lana Del Rey’s velvety voice reading her own wistful poem from 2019: “In Zimmermann with sandals on / Summer dress to choose…” It was a cinematic moment, Lana herself sat front row, watching dresses that looked like they could’ve been dreamt up from her lyrics.

The runway came alive with watercolor florals, cascading lace, and organza that floated like morning light. There was a touch of whimsy, but also grounded sophistication: mocha leather overalls worn unzipped just so, bell-bottom denim with matching jackets, and empire-waisted gowns that felt ready for the modern muse on the go.

“It started with this photo series of Australian artists living around Lavender Bay in the 1970s,” Nicky Zimmermann shared backstage. “They weren’t rebels, they were just people who wanted to create freely. What I loved was the energy and the fun, how they made their own world.” That ethos, playful but purposeful, runs through every thread of the collection. It’s about joy as rebellion, ease as luxury, and creativity as identity.

And while the dreamy dresses stole the spotlight, the real takeaway was energy. These were clothes for women who move between worlds, boardroom to beach, city to studio, without ever losing their softness.

The craftsmanship shimmered in every pleat and panel, but it was the emotion that lingered: a reminder that embracing femininity is not retreating from strength, but redefining it.

As Zimmermann continues her global expansion, from Venice to Vienna, her message remains universal. “You can’t have kindred without kind,” she said with a smile, a line that lands somewhere between a business mantra and a philosophy for living.

Because in a world that still rewards hardness, Kindred Spirit is a beautiful rebellion. It’s an ode to those who lead with grace, dress with intention, and dare to be both powerful and tender.

Zimmermann’s Spring 2026 collection isn’t just fashion, it’s a feeling. The kind that lingers long after the show lights dim, like perfume on skin or a poem you can’t quite forget.
